My Tater Chowder...Source: Jim Mixson



1 1/2 # potatoes, cubed

1/4 # bacon

1/4 # smoked ham trim, chopped

1/2 C chopped onion

2 C chicken broth

1 can evaporated milk

2 T butter

1/4 C flour

2 T sour cream

1/2 C cheddar cheese

JGM Mix 4+ (This is my concoction; see the recipe.)

    May substitute salt and pepper or other favorite seasoning





In a large sauce pan, add chicken broth, potatoes and onions

	Cook until just tender

Fry bacon to crispy, and chop

Add 1 T bacon drippings to potato mix.

Add chopped bacon and ham to potato mix

In bacon skillet, pour evaporated milk.

Melt in butter.

Slowly add flour and sour cream, simmering and stirring to homogeneous mixture.

Add to potato pot.

Add cheese and simmer; it will thicken.

Season to taste.
