Potato Soup II... Source: Jim Mixson Modified from http://cookbook.herald-mail.com/soups/hearty_pot_soup.html recipe 2 3/4 # potatos, peeled and diced 1/2 # carrots, peeled and diced 4 oz smoked ham, diced fine 1 T dehydrated celery 1 4 oz onion, chopped fine 6 T butter 6 T all purpose flour 2 T JGM mix (see my recipe) 1 1/2 cups milk 2 qt water 1 T bacon drippings 1 t liquid smoke Cook potatos, carrots and celery in Dutch oven with water. Season with JGM Mix. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain vegetables, keeping both broth and cooked vegetables. Saute onion with ham in butter and bacon drippings, until tender. Add liquid smoke. Add sauted mixture to cooked vegetables. Add flour and gradually add milk, stirring constantly to blend. Add broth from above to get desired consistency.
