SMOAK, VIVIAN DELL, 84

Gainesville - Vivian D. Smoak (Pete) age 84, died Monday, 
July 1, 2013 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. Vivian 
was born on January 29, 1929 in Hawthorne, FL to Charles and 
Christian Beckham. She was a loving wife to George Smoak for 
64 years. She was a homemaker and nurse, having worked with 
Dr. Crago in Gainesville, FL for more than 30 years. 

Vivian was a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Dianne Smoak and 
sister Clara Mae West.

She is survived by her husband George Smoak, who loved her 
dearly, a son Chuck Smoak and his wife Lauren, a daughter 
Georgia Morrison and her husband Bob, a brother James Beckham 
and sister Lucy Lee Beck, Dave Mathia, 8 grandchildren and 8 
great grandchildren, plus another one to be born in September. 

Vivian was happiest when surrounded by family and her many 
close friends. She also had a lifelong passion for fishing. 
She will be remembered for her generous heart and will be 
missed by many.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 6, 2013 
at 11:00 a.m., at Pine Grove Baptist Church, 4200 NW 39th Avenue, 
with Pastor Dean Slocumb officiating. The family will receive 
friends at 10:30 a.m., at the church. 
Interment will follow the service in Flemington Cemetery 
with graveside committal by Pastor O.E. Boals. Arrangements 
are under the care of WILLIAMS THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 
404 North Main Street.
