Zora Lee Smoak Carver

Burlington, NC: Zora Lee Smoak Carver, 84, of Burlington died Saturday, 
February 7, 2015 at Alamance Regional Medical Center following a brief 
illness. She was born in Sparr, FL on February 26, 1930 to the late F. 
Clifton and the late Edna Stephens Smoak. In her teens, the family moved 
to Greenville, SC. She graduated from Greenville High School and worked 
briefly as a long distance telephone operator.
 On January 25, 1948, she married Allen "Brad" Carver, who survives. 
They recently celebrated their 67th anniversary. She was a member of 
Holly Hill Baptist Church.
 Survivors other than her husband include three daughters and their 
husbands; Judy and Ken Whiteheart of Mocksville, Chriss and Henry Buckner 
of Burlington and Lea Carver and Michael Borosky of Graham; one son and 
his wife, Alan and Ginny Carver of Columbia, SC; six grandchildren, Jared 
and Stefanie B., Justin and Jennifer B., Jennifer W. and Jason L., 
Christian and Kristen C., Cameron and Mint C., and James W. and fiancée 
Nikki; three great grandchildren and one due in April, Jessa L., Aiden 
and Zoralee C. and Baby Noah Bradford; a sister, Martha Sue Vess of 
Greenville and four sisters-in-law. In addition to her parents, she was 
predeceased by a sister and four brothers, Adelaide, Elmer, Alfred, Floyd and Allen.
 The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday at Holly Hill Baptist 
Church by Pastor Kenny Black with burial to follow in Salem United Methodist 
Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:45 PM prior 
to the service at the church.
