Tillman, Mary Leila Micanopy - Mary Leila Tillman, 100, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at her home in Micanopy, FL, not five miles from the house where she was born, in Micanopy, in 1912. Mary Leila was born in a home with no electricity or running water which was normal at the time. She was a homemaker who lived with her husband and family in Jacksonville, FL for a time before moving back to Micanopy in 1954. She was a member of Micanopy Baptist Church. She loved fishing, gardening, and reading. Mary Leila was an avid Gator fan, a volunteer with Shands at AGH Auxiliary, and was still driving at the age of 93! Mary Leila was predeceased by her husband Rufus W. Tillman in 1995. She is survived by daughters Jane Elholm of Micanopy, and Judy (Roy) Whitten of Micanopy, sons Wilburn (Patty) Tillman of Lititz, PA, and Danny (Vicki) Tillman of Rising Sun, MD, 10 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Flemington Baptist Church in Flemington, FL, with burial to follow at Wacahoota Cemetery.
